Jumeirah Lake Towers Dubai (JLT) is a mixed use master planned community developed by Nakheel Properties located on Sheikh Zayed Road across from Dubai Marina. Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) is the free zone authority for JLT and its mandate is to enhance commodity trade flows through Dubai. However in order to attract a wider audience the DMCC has also started issuing trading licenses to firms from various industries. Many of the plots within JLT were sold to third party developers, who sold individual units off plan to retail investors. The towers are divided into 26 clusters which are located on the edges of four lakes. JLT is a popular destination for startup businesses as well as companies looking to establish a presence in the region or open up a branch office in the UAE. The area is well connected with direct access to Sheikh Zayed Road as well as two stops on the Dubai Metro.
Some of the key buildings in JLT include Almas Tower, Fortune Tower, One Lake Plaza, Reef Tower, Tiffany Tower, and the Jumeirah Business Centre Towers. A number of firms such as Conoco Phillips, Fortis Bank, Damas and Reliance Industries have set up offices in JLT in recent months.
