Bur Dubai is a historic district of the city located on the western side of the Dubai Creek, and is home to many historical sites and museums such as Al Bastakiya, which features old courtyard housing, Al Fahidi Fort, and Al Shindagha which is the historic location of the ruler’s house. Bur Dubai contains office, residential and hotel buildings as well as traditional souks. The district is situated in close proximity to the beachfront area of Jumeirah, Oud Metha and Healthcare City, and is full of shopping streets and souqs, including the textile souq and Al Souk Al Kabir, which is also known as Meena Bazaar and is one of the oldest residential areas of Dubai. Typically the office stock available is located in multi-tenanted buildings which tend to be secondary in nature. Majority of the office space is located on Trade Centre Road, Bank Street (Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street), Al Mankhool Road or near the creek.
Bur Dubai is home to many banks and financial services companies. Prominent companies include ABN Amro, Habib Bank, Allied Bank and Al Rostamani International Exchange. The majority of the buildings on Bank Street are single occupier headquarter offices for financial institutions. The newly constructed Burjuman Business Tower provides Grade-A quality office space and also benefits from being a part of the Burjuman Mall complex, which includes many food and beverage outlets, and the Burjuman Metro Station.
